MISSION STATEMENT»      It is the mission of the Velma Police Department to protect the lives and serve the citizens of Velma through the enforcement of the ordinances of this town and the laws of the state of Oklahoma.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION »      The Velma Police Department is comprised of two officers and units as well as two reserve officers.  Our two officers are Chief Randy Whipple and Assistant Chief Kenny Roden.   

 It is with a sad heart the Velma Police Department reports that K-9 Officer Libra has taken retirement.  He remains in the care of Chief Whipple.  Thank You Libra for your 8 years of service.

Officer Libra was with the Velma Police Department for 8 years. He had many accomplishments under his collar. Libra's main duties included drug searches during traffic stops, and random searches in schools. He could also be called on to assist other Law Enforcement agencies in the tracking of felons.
