BOARD OF TRUSTEES» The town board of trustees meets at town hall every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. These meetings are open to the public. Agendas are posted at select locations in town and on this website.

The board of trustees consists of five (5) members who are nominated and elected at large, without regard to their place of residence in the town.

The term of office for a trustee is four (4) years beginning at 12:00 noon on the second Monday following the general municipal election. The trustee serves until his successor is elected and qualified. The terms of the trustees shall be staggered so that at one general municipal election, the following trustees are elected to four-year terms:

1. TRUSTEE POSITIONS ONE, THREE AND FIVE AND
2. CLERK/TRESURER

At the next general municipal election, the following officers are to be elected for four-year terms:

A. Approval of the minutes of the meeting of the governing body held on August 10, 2010 and the Special Meeting held on August 12, 2010.

8. Discuss and consider action on presented materials/supply lists from each department.

9. Discuss and consider action on all departments needing to have a Purchase Order from their Chief or Assistant Chief or Department Head before any purchase can be made.

10. Discuss and consider action on possible election on tax to support the Velma Regional Clinic and resolution and wording to be put on ballot.

11. Discuss and consider action on changing speed limit from 35mph to 45mph on Old Highway 7 from the corner of Perdue and Main to S&W Road.

12. Discuss and consider action on paying EMS employees a $30 stand by fee for Velma Games.

13. Discuss and consider action on contracting with Attorney David Hammond as the Town’s new prosecuting attorney.

14. Discuss and consider action on concussion and head injuries awareness/management between EMS and the school.

15. Discuss and consider action on sending Assistant Chief Pondrom to training class held on October 4-8, 2010 in Oklahoma City at the cost of $250.

16. Discuss and consider action on purchasing 2 loads of gravel for street repairs.

17. Discuss and consider action on Lynzie Lockwood and her debt to the Town for EMT/EMR class and her expense statement submitted on August 20, 2010.

18. Discuss and consider action on repairing frame on Tanker 1.

19. Discuss and consider action on possibly moving Town Hall to the EMS building.

20. Discuss and consider action on signing contract with Freedom Fire Equipment on the new tanker for the Fire Department.

21. Discuss and consider action on allowing signs and/or billboards to be placed on the right-of-way owned by the Town across from Chuckwagon BBQ and New Highway 7.

22. Discuss and consider action on EMS separate account.

23. Discuss and consider action on life insurance and accidental death & dismemberment options for 3 employees not insured by Assurant.

24. Discuss and consider action on new contract with American Medical Response Company.
